Sunday, 2 March 2025: Bread and Cheese Lunch
Morning service on Sunday 2nd March was constrained by the fact that hot soup, bread rolls and cheese would be ready to serve at 12:30 pm. The event was a fundraiser for Emma Clarke, on her way to Zambia to participate in a mission aimed at enriching the lives of local children and teenagers. During the service Emma gave a PowerPoint presentation on the ongoing work and the positive contribution money raised at lunch would make to the development of the project.
Reverend Eleanor offered Emma, a second-year medical student at Queens university Belfast, the prayers and support of the congregation in her enterprise. She also congratulated Aoife Paskin on being selected for the Ulster Project, a cross-community exchange visit with similarly minded young persons in the United states.
However, before any of this got underway Rev. Eleanor welcomed the McCain family who had gathered in the church for the baptism of baby Hailee, resplendent in a beautiful satin christening gown. The congregation joined with parents, Yasmin and Kyle, and both sets of godparents in vows to nurture baby Hailee in a Christian upbringing.
The service finished in good time and over 60 persons stayed for lunch, collectively contributing over £1000.00 for Emma’s outreach.
