Advent in Omagh Methodist Church.
Sunday 1st December was the first Sunday in Advent 2024 and the church was beautifully decorated to prepare for the Christmas season. In pride of place was the Christmas tree with twinkling lights and festive baubles. In each window was a Christmas wreath with a candle and berried greenery, each one carefully created by Mr Victor Preston.  It is a tradition in the church that Rev Eleanor invites a member of the Sunday School to light the candles on the Advent Wreath displayed on the Baptismal Font. One candle is lit on the 1stSunday, two on the second Sunday, with the final candle being lit on Christmas morning when the congregation gathers to celebrate the birth of our Saviour. The church is blessed with having a large vibrant Sunday School and dedicated teachers to excite their interest and enthusiasm.
