Club Presentation to Rev Eleanor Hayden to mark her retirement as Club Chairman

[L – R] Jim McBain, Rev Eleanor Hayden, Maureen Allen

On Tuesday 19th May representatives from the Church Bowling Club arranged a meeting with the Rev Eleanor at 7.00 pm ahead of a scheduled meeting of the church council at 7.30 pm. Unfortunately, Desmond Preston, the mainstay of the Bowling Club for many years was unable to attend and the gift from the Club to mark Rev Eleanor’s retirement was presented by Maureen Allen.

Jim McBain presented a pair of bowls as a memento of the many times she dropped in on the club at its regular Tuesday night meetings. Rev Eleanor was delighted with the gift of a handmade carry bag and notebook for the Craft shop and a pair of lovely bowls that had previously belonged to Club Member, Carol Porter. She said that would treasure both and use the bag to carry materials for Children’s addresses when invited to take services in retirement.

A photo to record the occasion was taken by Kenny Allen, an enthusiastic bowler, club member and keen photographer.
