On Saturday 17th May the new Manse was declared ”OPEN” and members of the congregation invited to a coffee morning to inspect the property and have a look round. Some 75 Methodists paid a visit and were rewarded with tea, coffee and traybakes served either in the kitchen – dining room or outside on the patio. The weather was bright sunny and warm which encouraged visitors to take their refreshments outside.
The new Manse is a modern new-build with four bedrooms, a study, a large lounge and an open-plan kitchen-dining room extending into a bright conservatory. A well-fitted utility room provides access to a paved patio area and a large garage. The property occupies a corner site with a low maintenance garden from which to take in pleasant views of the town and Sperrin Mountains.
On Sunday 18th the new Manse was dedicated in a service led by Rev Alan Wardlow, President Designate of the Methodist Church in Ireland with Rev Stephen Skuce, N.W. District Superintendent in attendance. During the service Rev Eleanor Hayden welcomed Miss Emma Fleming, our new Pastoral Assistant, and introduced her to the congregation.
The service was followed by a lovely supper in the Peter Good Hall provided by the ladies of the Church M.W.I.
