MWI Breakfast

On Saturday 19th September 2026 Omagh Methodist M.W.I. hosted breakfast in the Peter Good Hall for some 72 ladies from their own congregation and neighbouring churches.  The new Methodist minister, Rev Colin Houston, was introduced by MWI President Anne McBain; Rev Colin expressed his pleasure at seeing such a large gathering of local ladies.  After a prayer  and Grace from Lay Pastor, Emma Fleming, a delicious, cooked breakfast was served by Gordon and Barbara Moore.  There was a happy and sociable atmosphere as friends met up after the summer break.

[L – R] Anne McBain, MWI President, Guest Speaker, Ruth Hamilton, Betty Doonan, MWI Secretary

Our speaker was Ruth Hamilton from Portadown. Ruth worked with the W.E.C. – World Evangelism Crusade – and spent time with her husband and family in a church planting outreach in Senegal. Ruth was a wonderful speaker. She was totally sincere and told her story in a very interesting manner.  She emphasised Christian values especially in the second-half of life. Her message encouraged hope, faith and awareness that we are never alone. At our most difficult times we have God’s promise that his everlasting arms will give us the strength to carry on.  Kindness and consideration for others is vital in our Christian world.
The meeting was a very uplifting one, which gets our autumn/winter season off to a good start.
