Ivan Brown B.E.M 100th Birthday
Rev Eleanor Hayden with Ivan and Alan Wardlow. President Methodist Church in Ireland
On Wednesday 25th February 2026 friends and family of Mr Ivan Brown B.E.M. came together in his home in Lisbellaw to celebrate his 100th birthday. Among the many well-wishers was Rev Alan Wardlow, President of the Methodist Church, accompanied by Rev Eleanor Hayden. Also present was Ivan’s nephew Rev Charles McMullen former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. He was accompanied by his wife, Mrs McMullan, who was delighted to see uncle Ivan looking so well and in such great form. A 100th birthday card from King Charles and Queen Camilla was delivered by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant for County Fermanagh, Mr Selwyn Johnson BEM.
Clearly a lot of planning had gone into making the occasion bright, happy and cheerful. A lovely afternoon tea with a cake and candles was served, appreciation going to Ivan’s daughter, Barbara, and niece, Sandra Carruthers, for all their efforts. Also delighted to be join in the celebrations were Ivan’s siblings, in-laws, and many friends and neighbours of the celebrated centenarian. Rev Eleanor had great pleasure in bringing the warmest congratulations and best wishes not only of the congregation of Omagh Methodist but also of the entire circuit and connection.
