OMAGH METHODIST CHURCH HARVEST

Rev Colin Houston

On Sunday 4th October Omagh Methodist celebrated the harvest with a service at 11:30 AM and a second in the evening at 7:30 PM. In keeping with tradition, the church was beautifully adorned with colourful seasonal displays. Eye-catching arrangements of flowers, fruit and vegetables decorated the porch, the windowsills down both sides of the sanctuary and around the pulpit at the front. [See gallery below.]

Rev Colin Houston led the Harvest.  His imaginative talk at the morning service focused on the children present with his message hiding in a box of peat containing potatoes! At the evening service he addressed the challenges to be found in Deuteronomy Chapter 28 v 1-9

At both services a choir under the direction of Mrs Betty Doonan enriched the worship with hymns of thankfulness and praise.  The soloist of the evening service was Mrs Linda Lindsay.  Members of the congregation played an active part in both services leading in prayer, reading passages of scripture and poems and joining enthusiastically in familiar harvest hymns. At the close of the evening service a lovely supper was served by the ladies of the MWI for church members and guests.
