On Sunday 14th April RUCGC held its annual service of reflection and remembrance in Omagh Methodist Church. The service was well attended and the church well-filled with former and serving members of the RUC and PSNI. Reverend Eleanor Hayden officiated. During the service, a beautiful Pulpit Bible was presented to the church in honour of constable Brian Lynn Maguire MBE. A lectern engraved with the crests of the Royal Irish Constabulary, Royal Ulster Constabulary and the Police Service of Northern Ireland was also dedicated. It bears the words
Lectern presented to the Church
To the glory of God and in memory of
All those who served as police officers in the Omagh District
And in honour of those who continue to serve
Throughout Northern Ireland in the PSNI
They faithfully served and their sacrifice will not be forgotten.
Dedicated to Const. Brain Maguire
