Reception Service 10th May 2026
On Sunday 10th May 2026 Rev Eleanor Hayden presided over a thoughtfully prepared service for the reception of five young members of the congregation into full membership of Omagh Methodist Church. Their reception followed a series of preparation classes conducted online using zoom led by Rev Eleanor on Sunday afternoons. As part of the service each young person was presented with a Bible to mark the event and received an individual blessing from the minister. Members of the congregation participated in the service, following liturgy from the Methodist worship book.

There was an added dimension to the service in that Miss Emma Fleming was admitted to full membership of the Methodist Church in Ireland, having served as lay pastor on the circuit for the past year.
The service ended with Holy Communion in which each of the new communicants was invited forward with their families, to be joined later by all members of the congregation. In her closing remarks Rev Eleanor expressed her delight at seeing the church so well filled for this special event in the lives of the young people and in the life of the church.
