Rev Eleanor with Rev June Parke and Rev Ken Bradley

On Sunday 5th October Omagh Methodist celebrated the Harvest Festival with two services. The morning service at 11.30 was conducted by Rev Ken Lindsay and the evening service at 7.30 by Rev Jane Parke, supported in song by her husband Rev Ken Bradley. Special music for the occasion was provided by the church choir accompanied by choir leader and organist, Mrs Betty Doonan. The closing hymn on Sunday evening was sung to the tune of “Highland Cathedral” with piper Albert Monteith leading the congregation in praise.
The porch and body of the church was beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere enriched by the fragrances of freshly cut flowers. Following the evening service members of the congregation and guests from other churches in the town and around the circuit were treated to harvest supper in the Peter Good Hall. Rev Elenor Hyden thanked all those who had decorated the church and served the tea and expressed herself delighted with the excellent numbers that had attended both the morning and evening services.
