Church Auction and Sale of Work
On Saturday 13th September 2025 Omagh Methodist Church held an auction and sale of work in the Peter Good Hall to raise money the new Manse. The event was the culmination of several weeks effort on the part of the congregation as members scoured their lofts and cupboards for pre-loved items. The bounty was helped considerably by two house clearances and many gifts of furniture and other household items in very good condition. What could not readily be classified and labelled for auction was placed on the bric-a-brac stalls. These excited a great deal of interest with eager buyers urged on by Rev Eleanor and Lay Pastor, Emma Fleming.
Viewing started at 09.30 am and the auction itself got underway at 11.30. The auctioneer, Mr William Swann, ensured that sales were brisk and by lunchtime some 207 lots had been cleared. At the end of the day over £7,800 was raised – enough to buy the railings and gates for the new Manse and complete the purchase of a new residence for our minister. Thanks were given to all who had contributed items for the auction with especial thanks for those who had worked tirelessly to make the day an outstanding success.
