Omagh Methodist M.W.I. Breakfast

Ready for breakfast

The event was held in the Peter Good Hall at 9.00 am on Saturday 13th April.  Ninety ladies from different denominations and women’s groups in the Omagh area came together for what developed into a very happy and interesting morning.  M.W.I. President, Mrs Anne McBain, welcomed everyone , remarking on the wonderful feeling of togetherness in the room.  Rev Eleanor Hayden gave an uplifting opening prayer, which included grace and a blessing on all those who had made the effort to get up and get out  early for the joys of a fellowship meal.

This was followed by a delicious cooked breakfast beautifully prepared and presented by Barbara and Gordon Moore and their team.  Following the meal Rev Eleanor and Rev Leah McKibben led the ladies in a resounding rendition of the well-known hymn, “I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus, the Nazarene”. The special speaker at the event was Mrs Pamela Forrest. Pamela has worked as a buyer for a well-known chain of High Street fashion shops and shared some very interesting thoughts on current trends and styles, emphasizing the benefits of colour and co-ordination.

In keeping with the theme of the event she gave a wonderful insight into her conversion to Christianity and her strong faith. Her life has not been easy at times, but her testament demonstrated the importance of prayer and conviction on our daily journey of faith.  Mrs Betty Doonan gave a heartfelt vote of thanks to the speaker and the caterers for making the occasion such a success.  A truly memorable morning was closed by Rev Leah offering up a moving prayer for blessings on all those present.
