MWI   [Methodist Women in Ireland]       Scroll down for photos

MWI links together all the women’s groups within the Methodist Church in Ireland. Its purpose is
• To enable members through fellowship with each other to deepen their personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
• To relate the teaching of Jesus Christ to life in the home, the church, the community and the world.
• To share in the mission of the World Church.
• To provide a link with the women of other churches in Ireland and throughout the world.

Our local group of ladies in Omagh Methodist Church gathers in the Dick Bell Room on the third Monday of each month at 8.00 pm.  We have an interesting and varied programme with a variety of speakers.  We also enjoy informal occasions such as days away and meals out.  Please come and join us at any of our meetings; you will be made very welcome.

Report on MWI Concert held Friday 10th November in the Peter Good Hall

The event was organised by by President Betty Doonan and her committee, Some 200 persons attended, creating a warm welcoming audience for the performers.   The compere was Rev William Newell who provided a light-hearted atmosphere.  The Silver Tones Male Voice Choir from Ballinamallard conducted by Mrs Hazel Darragh provided a varied range of musical items.  There were many opportunities for the audience to join in, which they did with enthusiasm.  Bethany McClenaghan played four beautiful pieces on her violin and a talented group of young ladies from the the McClintock School of Dancing impressed with their energy and expertise.  The major part of the money raised is going, via Christian Aid, to “Crisis in Yemen”, a charity providing support for the victims of warfare in that part of the world.
