Morning Service, Sunday 13th June 2021, baby James Richard Pollock baptised.

On Sunday morning Omagh Methodist Church was as full as social distancing would allow because several members of the Pollock and McQuade families had joined the congregation to see Holly and Lee’s baby son baptised.  Rev Eleanor gave everyone the warmest of welcomes on the warmest day of the year so far, her only regret being that Covid restrictions did not permit her to take baby James in her arms for the Christening part of the service.   In the event she was joined at the font by the baby’s parents, accompanied by James big sister, Hannah.   Dad did a first class job in holding James over the font while Rev Eleanor gently poured the water of baptism on his head.   Little James was wide awake throughout, taking a good look at Rev Eleanor and the rest of the church.   The New Testament lesson from St Matthew’s gospel was read by Mrs Yvonne McQuade, present in her role as a very proud Grandmother.  The beautiful floral display at the side of the pulpit greatly enhanced the occasion, providing a perfect backdrop for the ceremony.
