Drive-in Service Sunday 29 November 2020

On Friday 27th November, the Northern Ireland Executive imposed a two-week lockdown on all non-essential services in the Province in an effort to check the spread of the coronavirus.   The hope was that the “R” number would drop enough in the space of a fortnight to allow a relaxation of restrictions on 11th December.   If successful, this would give everyone the chance to enjoy Christmas with their families – and hard pressed retailers some benefit from last-minute shopping.  In common with all the other churches Omagh Methodist suspended Sunday Morning Services for two weeks – Sunday 29 November and Sunday 6 December. To maintain the continuity of worship in the season of Advent Rev Eleanor quickly arranged drive-in services across the circuit, in Omagh, Mayne and Togherdoo. The one in Omagh on Sunday 29th at 11.30 was well attended and blessed with good weather; it was mild, calm and dry as Rev Eleanor mounted the trailer on the back of Freddie’s car and addressed those present through an effective PA system. Her sermon on the theme of “Good News” can be enjoyed by following the link on the Church website to Sunday Morn 29 Nov.
