The Story behind the Days of Elijah
The mighty praise piece “These are the days of Elijah” was written by Belfast man, Robin Mark, in 1994 at a time when many Christians felt they were living through dark times. It is a song of hope, as uplifting in the days of Coronavirus as it was in the days of Elijah. To listen to it performed by Robin himself go to Rhona’s Page on the website where it has been requested by Desmond Preston. Desmond writes:
During these times it is easy to become weary of the restrictions and in my case the isolation and begin to wonder if God really is in control. But I believe that just as Robin Mark felt called by the Holy Spirit to write “The days of Elijah” 25 years ago, when times were also hard – catastrophic in Rwanda – God is still in control in these extraordinary times to day, walking alongside us, loving us. I have researched and read the story of why Robin Mark came to write this song. I was encouraged and suggest if you don’t already know the story check it out.
