The Omagh & Fintona Methodist Circuit are holding an Evening Circuit Service on Sunday 2 February at 7.00pm.   The special speaker will be Rev. Sam McGuffin, President of the Methodist Church in Ireland. He will be accompanied by his wife Linda.  Rev. McGuffin is a native of Dungannon where his father Mr. Ronnie McGuffin still resides.   He has ministered in Irish Methodism for more than 36 years since he graduated from Edgehill Theological College in 1983.   His journey in faith in the church has led him to various parts of Ireland including Portlaoise, West Cork, Cavehill, Finaghy and Seymour Hill, Londonderry City Mission, Enniskillen and currently in Glengormley on the Newtownabbey Mission Circuit. He has been the Circuit Superintendent in the last 5 of these.

The main emphasis of Rev. McGuffin’s ministry in the church has been his preaching, pastoral work and administration in addition to supporting the youth and children’s leaders as well as facilitating the multi-faceted work , worship and witness of present-day congregations. In all this work he feels greatly blessed to have a wonderful and totally supportive wife in Linda.   Rev. McGuffin was appointed Irish President in June 2019 which, he says, came as a bit of a shock to him. “You never know where the Lord will lead us in the adventure of Christian living,” he said. All are welcome to come and hear Rev. McGuffin speak at the special service in Omagh Methodist Church at 7.00pm on next Sunday 2 February 2020.
