Rev. Eleanor Hayden, Superintendent of the Omagh and Fintona Circuit, welcomed Rev. Billy Davison, All Ireland Methodist President, and his wife Loraine to an evening praise service on Sunday, 5th May in Omagh.  Prior to the service Rev. Davison and his wife met some of the organists and those responsible for the music from the 5 churches on the Circuit as well as Circuit and Society officials. The service included members from each of the Circuit churches who contributed with bible readings and prayers. Two junior members, Rebecca Kelly from Mayne Church and Sarah Mills from Togherdoo Church made presentations to Rev. Davison and his wife.
The congregation heard Rev. Davison speak about the story of the prodigal son, concentrating on the gracious father who never gave up on his absent son. Referring to Luke 15, he urged everyone not to be downhearted and to keep praying and believing and God’s spirit would work. All needed an encounter with God through prayer.  A time of fellowship was had with the serving of supper at the close of the evening.
