On Thursday 14th March Omagh Churches Forum [OFC] hosted a “Lent and Lunch” event in the Strule Arts Centre for all who wanted to come and share in time of refreshment and reflection. On arrival guests were treated to tea and coffee and sandwiches. Once seated Rev Eleanor Hayden, Minister of Omagh Methodist Church, welcomed everyone and introduced members of the Churches Forum – both clergy and laity.   Reflections on the meaning of Easter and the significance of Lent were led by Rev Jane Nelson, Minister of 1st Omagh Presbyterian Church, and Mr Paddy McMahon, representing the Laity.   Visitors were invited to view a display table featuring maps, a globe and walking boots, prompting reflection on our journey of faith and the times when we walked with God.   The Churches Forum were delighted with the attendance and the lovely atmosphere which marked the event.  A second OFC “Lent and Lunch” is planned for Thursday 28th March – top floor Strule Arts Centre.  Once again everyone will be made most welcome.
