A joint Week of Mission will be taking place in Omagh Methodist Church and St. Columba’s Parish Church from Monday 15th to Friday 19th April 2019 commencing each evening at 8.00pm.   Guest speaker will be Rev. Dr. Heather Morris from the Methodist Church’s Home Mission Department.   The services will alternate each evening: St. Columba’s Church services on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8.00pm; Omagh Methodist Church services on Tuesday and Thursday at 8.00pm

Rev. Morris, who spoke at the launch on Thursday evening, 14th March in Omagh Methodist Church, has chosen her title for the week’s mission “CLOSE ENCOUNTER – THE AFFIRMING TOUCH OF GOD”.  The Week will also include a number of other events in addition to the church services.  On Tuesday 16th April Rev. Morris will lead a seminar in the Methodist Church entitled “Dementia & Pastoral Care” from 10.30am until 12.00noon. This seminar is supported by the Alzheimer’s Society.

A gently paced two-mile walk including reflections on the Cross will take place on Friday 19th April at 11.00am beginning at the Ulster American Folk Park. This is suitable for both adults and children.  Both churches have arranged an Open-Air Dawn Service at 6.00am on Easter Sunday morning. The assembly point for this will be at Mountfield Orange Hall on Tirquin Road and includes an uphill walk to a viewpoint over Omagh.

Rev. Eleanor Hayden and Rev. Sean Hanily were both in attendance at the launch.  Everyone is welcome to attend these services and events.
